All about the battle technique used by Zenitsu in the anime!

In Demon Slayer, breaths are very important techniques that all fighting styles use to create impressive action scenes. All of them are directly related to some element of nature or feeling that gives the user more power when using their blows.

In today's article we're going to explain all about the forms of thunder breathing, a technique used by the character Zenitsu in the novel. But before moving on to the first form of this skill, let's first take a look at what exactly it is. Are you ready? Then follow along with us to stay well-informed on the subject!

What is thunder breathing anyway?

Despite being known by fans as "Zenitsu's technique", it wasn't the blond-haired character who invented this fighting style. The forms of the thunder breath were created by a student of the person responsible for creating the sun breath, which is considered the main technique among all those existing in this universe. Thunder breath is even part of the five main breaths in the anime.

This technique focuses on increasing the agility of the user's attack by concentrating his strength in his legs, thus increasing his mobility. At first, there were six forms of thunder breath, but Zenitsu has undergone arduous training to master all of these techniques and has also added a completely new, self-created seventh form to the list of possible uses. You can find out all about each of these forms below!

First form: Flash of Thunder

This is known as the main basis for all other forms of thunder breath. Although it has variations, its main feature in use is to allow the fighter to quickly advance on his enemy using his sword, cutting him down with a single, sharp blow.

Still in the first form, we can have the "Six Folds" variation where the traditional form is performed six times in a row. There's also the "Eight Fold" version which follows the same principle as the previous one, but allows it to be used eight times instead of six. And finally, there's the "Divine Speed" variation, which is nothing more than the first form, but performed at an even greater speed than it usually is.

Second form: Inadama

The second form of thunder breath is lethal and potentially destructive. It allows the swordsman to acquire a speed so great that he can execute five simultaneous attacks on his opponent. All this using a single movement.

Third form: Thunder buzz

In the third form of the thunder breath, the user is able to deliver several consecutive blows. This possibility is executed so quickly that a spinning wave is formed and sent in all directions, reducing the opponent's chance of finding an escape route before they end up being hit hard by the wave.

Fourth form: Distant Thunder

As its name suggests, the fourth form of thunder breath is focused on long-distance attacks. Here, the swordsman will concentrate the power of lightning, which gives him more agility to launch several blows and direct them where his enemy is. This technique is very fast and hardly allows the target to escape, making it extremely useful in combat.

Fifth way: Heat Lightning

Here we have one of the most lethal forms of thunder breath of all, because it can be used both at a distance and close to your opponent. In this form, a single attack is unleashed, with great precision and requiring a great deal of focus from the fighter, making it highly versatile for use in the most diverse types of combat.

Sixth form: Shrill Flash

Very similar to the result obtained by using the fourth form, the sixth form of thunder breath allows the user to execute many blows at the same time that hit the opponent from all possible sides. However, this form is more powerful than its predecessor and with even less chance of the enemy escaping.

Seventh form: God of Flaming Thunder

This is the only one of the forms of this breath that was specially created by Zenitsu. In it, the user is able to execute a deadly blow against their opponent that is impossible to dodge, all accompanied by the image of a dragon made up of lightning bolts. It is considered the strongest of the thunder breath forms.

This is certainly one of the most powerful techniques in Kimetsu no Yaiba and also one of the most beloved by fans! But what about you? Which form of thunder breathing is your favorite?
